Trap Being set up at a residence on road 39 in Pasco
Traps are set in the late afternoon to run throughout the night. The trap collections are picked up the next day and taken to FCMCD Lab for identification and disease testing.
When each trap is set out it is filled with dry-ice. As the dry ice breaks down it omits CO2, a primary attractant to female mosquitoes. The female mosquitoes sense the CO2 and are drawn to the trap and the trap’s fan blades force them into the catch bag which is collected for identification and disease testing.
